We have recently gotten into bread making at our house and had a lot of questions about what the best bread machine would be… This was not a simple question to answer! We decided to go over as many reviews of the leading bread machines that we could find and compile the information before deciding on a purchase.

In the end, we decided to go with the Zojirushi Bread Machine, also known as the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme. The newer model, which is what we purchased, is known as the Zojirushi BB-CEC20 (its predecessor was the Zojirushi BBCCX20). I would like to go over some of the finer points of the Zojirushi Bread Machine which helped us in our decision to make this particular purchase, and to hopefully help you decide whether this is the right bread maker for you.

Dual Blades in the Zojirushi Bread Machine Make for Better Ingredient Mixing

The Zojirushi Bread Maker comes with dual blades that allow it to mix your ingredients thoroughly and saving you the strain of kneading your dough manually. This is important because if the ingredients aren’t mixed correctly your bread will end up having “pockets” of various ingredients which can lead to unpleasant results in your loaf’s taste and texture. The dual blades and proper mixing also lead to your bread having a higher rise, which give it a more light and fluffy texture.

Strong Enough for the Toughest Jobs

Wattage is a measurement of electrical power; the Zojirushi Bread Machine is 700-watts, which is definitely strong enough knead virtually any type of dough.

The Zojirushi Bread Machine Creates Large, Easy to Remove Loaves of Home Made Bread

The rectangular bread pan that comes with the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme allows you to make loaves of bread up to 2 pounds! The bread pan can be removed from the Zojirushi Bread Machine, making it easy to clean after baking.

Thanks to its nonstick bread pan, you will easily be able to remove your bread after baking without having it stick to the pan and break or crumble. This also makes the bread pan very easy to clean up after you are finished baking.

What Are the 10 Pre-Programmed Settings in the Zojirushi Bread Maker Used For?

The Zojirushi BB-CEC20 comes with 10 pre-programmed settings that allow you to easily add your ingredients and let the machine do all of the work, so you don’t have to adjust the settings based on what type of loaf of bread you’re making.

As you can see, the pre-programmed settings in the Zojirushi bread machine cover almost any kind of bread that you would like to create… and they’re all as easy to setup as pressing a button. There are also three custom settings that you can edit for personal recipes if you’re making something a little bit different.

Choose How Dark Your Bread Crust is with the Zojirushi Bread Maker

Everybody enjoys different types of crust. Personally, I favor very light crust on my bread as I prefer a lighter taste and texture to most of the breads that I make at home. The Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme allows you to choose whether you would like your bread’s crust to be light, medium or dark.

How Easy Is It to Read the Controls on the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme?

A really nice feature of the Zojirushi BB-CEC20 is that it has a very easy to read LCD control panel. LCD control panels are what you see in almost all home appliances these days, such as the clock on a microwave. The LCD display on the Zojirushi is backlit for easy viewing. It is also very user friendly, which makes the control panel simple to use without spending a long time learning what everything does – it is extremely easy and straightforward to use.

Want to Wake Up to the Pleasing Aroma of Freshly Baked Bread?

One of my favorite features of the Zojirushi Bread Machine is that it offers a delay timer that will allow you to begin making your bread up to 13 hours from the time that you add the ingredients.

It’s as simple as loading your ingredients and telling the machine to begin at a pre-determined time. Allowing you to have a freshly baked loaf of bread ready when you wake up or when you get back from a long day at work or out of the home.

Easily Keep an Eye on Your Bread While Baking!

Thanks to the Zojirushi Bread Maker’s large viewing window, you can easily make sure that everything is going right with your latest baking creation! The large viewing window allows you to check on your bread at every stage of creation to make sure that everything is going smoothly. Personally, I use it the most towards the end, to make sure that my bread isn’t being overdone and getting darker than I want it to be, but it’s nice to be able to check your loaf of bread all along its path to completion.

Durability is a Must!

The Zojirushi Bread Machine is an extremely sturdy and well-made bread maker that will last you for several years even with frequent use. It has a sturdy design that fits perfectly on just about any counter top.

Ease of Use and Safety with the Zojirushi Bread Machine

Some additional feature that I haven’t already mentioned include a light to let you know that you’re bread machine is on and working, as well as a start/reset button.

I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of gadgets around my house that don’t come with an On/Off Indicator and it can make it pretty difficult to decipher whether or not it’s even on! Luckily, they took this into consideration when designing the Zojirushi bread maker.

The Start/Reset button allows you to easily stop your bread machine if something appears to be going wrong and you need to start over. This is really a great safety feature, because it allows you to safely stop the machine’s cycle in case you need to remove the bread pan or unplug the machine.

Measuring spoon – The measuring spoon is double sided that has a Teaspoon on one side and a Tablespoon measurer on the other.
Measuring cup – The measuring cup is 8 ounces.
User manual with recipes included – There are plenty of easy to use recipes for your bread machine provided along with the user manual. This will allow you to begin making delicious bread as soon as you have your ingredients assembled.
